Paragraph Selection Rule Summary

Displays existing paragraph selection rules. You can create new paragraph selection rules. See Creating a Paragraph Selection Rule

You can also open, copy, and delete existing rules.

Paragraph selection rules determine which paragraphs to insert in customer correspondence. The inserted paragraphs are based on the paragraph type that is associated with the paragraph selection rule. See Paragraph Selection Rules.

Fields

Paragraph Type: A list of all of the existing paragraph types.

When you select a paragraph type, XTRAC populates the window with any paragraph selection rules that are already defined for the selected paragraph type.

Seq: (Sequence) The order that XTRAC evaluates the rules in.

Active: The status of the rule:

If the Active check box is checked, the rule is turned on. Otherwise, the rule is turned off. You can click the check box to change a rule's status. You can also click Check and Uncheck to change the status of any selected rules.

Description: A description of the rule.

Event: The type of event that can cause a particular rule to fire.

Condition: The conditions that cause the rule to fire.

Copy To: The list of owners that you can copy the selected rules to.

Buttons

Reset Filter/Sort: Returns the list to its default sequence and sort order.

This option is enabled after you sort or filter the columns and the result is different from the default. The Move Up and Move Down options are disabled when the records are out of sequence or all of the records are not displayed.

Move Up: Moves the selected row up one position in the list.

If this option is not enabled, you might need to click Reset Filter/Sort to rearrange the items in their default sequence order. You can then reorder the items.

Move Down: Moves the selected row down one position in the list. If this option is not enabled, you might need to click Reset Filter/Sort to rearrange the items in their default sequence order and then reorder the items.

Check: Checks the Active option for the selected rules. You can also click the Active check box to select it.

Uncheck: Clears the Active option for one or more selected rules. You can also click the Active check box to clear it.

Go: Copies the selected rules to the selected owner.

New: Opens the rule detail window where you can create a new rule of the same type.

Copy: Creates a new rule that is a copy of an existing one. The copy is opened in the rule detail window where you can rename it.

Open: Opens the selected rule in the rule detail window.

You can also double-click an item in the summary window to open it.

Delete: After you confirm that you want to delete the selected rule, XTRAC deletes the rule from the rule summary window.

Save: Saves the changes that you made in this window.

Close: Closes this window.

If you made changes in the window and have not yet clicked Save, a warning displays that all of your changes will be lost. Click Yes to close the window and discard any changes. Click No to return to the window so you can save any changes.
