Custom Field Summary

Displays existing custom fields. You can create new custom fields. See Creating a Custom Field.

You can also open, copy, and delete existing custom fields.

Custom fields are business-specific fields that you can define for a work item. You use work item rules to control the custom fields that display on work items at various nodes. See Custom Fields.

Fields

Search for: The value that you want to search for.

XTRAC searches the column that you specify in the in Column drop-down list box to find this value.

Column: A list of all of the columns in the open summary window.

XTRAC searches this column to find the value that you specify in the Search for field.

List of Custom Fields: The name, description, data type, display mask, and length of each custom field. The list also indicates whether the field is shared by a split family and whether the field is active or marked for delete.

Buttons

Search: Searches for the value that you entered in the Search for field and in the column that you selected from the In Column drop-down list box. When the value is found, XTRAC selects it in the list.

New: Opens the Custom Field Detail window where you can create a new custom field.

Copy: Creates a new custom field that is a copy of an existing one. The copy is opened in the Custom Field Detail window where you can rename it.

Open: Opens the selected custom field in the Custom Field Detail window.

You can also double-click a custom field in the summary window to open it.

Delete: Deletes the selected custom field from the summary window

Close: Closes this window.

If you made changes in the window and have not yet clicked Save, a warning displays that all of your changes will be lost. Click Yes to close the window and discard any changes. Click No to return to the window so you can save any changes.
