Configuring Web Browsers to View Documents

Configuring Internet Explorer

When you attempt to open a non-image document in the XTRAC Viewer, the file will launch in its associated application. However, you can configure Internet Explorer to open Microsoft Office Documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) in a browser window.

For more information, see Microsoft KB article 982995 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982995).

Viewing Document Attachments with Firefox

XTRAC Workbench supports Mozilla Firefox web browsers, version 3.6.13 and later.

The Java Platform plugin must be enabled. The document viewer uses a Java Applet. If the Java plugin is not enabled, Firefox will return an error when attempting to display a document attachment.

1.   Launch Firefox.
2.   On the Tools menu, select Options.
3.   In the Options dialog, select the General tab.
4.   Click Manage Add-ons.
5.   On the Add-ons Manager, click the Plugins tab.
6.   On the right pane, find the Java(TM) Platform SE plugin and click Enable.

Note: If the button next to the plugin displays "Disable", the plugin is already enabled and you do not need to make any changes.
