Using the Library

IMPORTANT: The Library pane is incorrectly labeled "Repository". [When the pane's ? (help) icon is clicked, this Using the Library topic is displayed.]

To view the Library pane, don one of the following:

The Filters pane and Library pane (incorrectly Labeled "Repository") are displayed. They contains only the files, reports, and dashboards that you have permission to work with.

You can complete the following tasks from this pane:

Running Reports and Dashboards from the Library

1.   Open the Library pane.

2.   In the Filters pane, select the Reports or Dashboards filter.
3.   To view a report or dashboard, do one of the following:

If you run a report, it displays in the Report Viewer. If you run a dashboard, the dashboard opens in a new window.

4.   To cancel the loading of an item, click Cancel in the progress box that appears.

Filtering Reports and Dashboards

The Filters pane's default filter selection of All available, All types, and Any time shows all the library's items in the right pane.

To filter items, you can select the required options below any of the default filter settings. For example, you could select Modified by me > Reports > Past week.

You can apply the following filter options in the Filters pane:

All Available

The default selection that displays all the resources in the library

All Types

The Default selection that displays all the resource types in the library.

Any Time

Default selection that displays all the dated items.

Any Schedule

Default selection that displays both scheduled and unscheduled report jobs, and other resources.

Modified by me - Select to display only items that were changed by the logged-in user. Reports - Select to display only reports. Today - Select to display items that were viewed or edited since midnight. Scheduled - Select to display only reports with scheduled jobs.
Viewed by me - Select to display items that were run and viewed by the logged-in user. Report outputs - Select to display only output from reports (supported export types: HTML, PDF, etc.) that was scheduled or run in the background. Yesterday - Select to display items that were viewed or edited before midnight of the previous day. Scheduled by me - Select to display only reports with jobs scheduled by the logged-in user.
  Ad Hoc views - Select to display only Ad Hoc views, consisting of tables, charts and tabs for analysis. Past week - Select to display items that were viewed or edited in the last seven days, including today. Not scheduled - Select to display only reports with no scheduled jobs.
  Dashboards - Select to display only dashboards. Past month - Select to display items that were viewed or edited in the past month, including today.  
  OLAP views - Select to display only OLAP views, also known as analysis views, in which you can change the way XRA displays the data.    
  Domains - Select to display only domains, which let users view columns that have been set up for their business needs.    
  Data sources - Select to display only data sources.    
  Deprecated reports - Select to display only deprecated reports.    

Note: To view more filters under All types, click More choices. To reduce the number of filters, click Fewer choices after you expand the filter options under All types.

Searching the Library

To search the library

1.   Open the Library pane.

2.   In the Library pane, enter details in the search field above the library's list of items.

Note: Do not use folder names, quotes, or symbols in your search parameters.

3.   Click the magnifier icon, or press Enter.

The search results appear in the pane's table.

Sorting Library Items

After you have searched the library (see Searching the Library above), you may sort the results.

You use the Sort By options on the top-right of the page to reorder the list of items.

Note: The currently selected sort option displays in bold text.
